Dubai, 23th August 2014: Last week Saahtain Foods, on behalf of its clients, has delivered 40,000 Tayyib Ready-

To-Eat Meal pouches to the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) facility in Dubai. The consignment was

in support of Gaza aid operations and coordinated by the International Humanitarian City (IHC) of Dubai under

the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of

the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The IHC effectively coordinated an urgent relief programme for Gaza involving Saahtain Foods, the UN World

Food Programme (WFP), UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) in

addition to other various IHC members. As part of this critical aid initiative 40,000 Tayyib meal pouches were

loaded onto a Lockeed C130 Hercules transport which then left for Jordan. After delivery by air to Amman,Jordan, the local office of the UNRWA received the meals to then effect delivery to various distribution centres

within Gaza.

Saahtain Foods CEO, Adeel Khan stated that "Tayyib meal pouches are a highly effective form of 100% Halal,

100% Natural, highly nutritious, localised taste Food Aid, particularly in areas where infrastructure and hygiene

are poor and people have limited access to clean water, storage and cooking fuel".

Saahtain Foods’ Tayyib Meals are for Humanitarian and Disaster Relief sector, which are available in several

recipes, have long shelf life at ambient temperature and can contain fortifying Halal nutrients.
